We are honored and delighted to invite you to the 20th International Focusing Conference. First held in Chicago in 1988, this event welcomes participants from a variety of countries, speaking many languages and coming from different cultures, to share their common interest in Focusing. This Conference holds the vision of further opening the world of Focusing to the international francophone communities. It is with enthusiasm that we embrace this perspective.
The Opening Ceremony of the Conference will be in Canada’s both official languages, English and French. A special effort is being made by the Organizing Committee to make information and communication available in both languages throughout the entire conference. We also wish to encourage and favor communication in all other languages.
The theme of this conference, “Beyond Duality”, is an invitation to accompany places in conflict and opposition, thus allowing an emergence beyond all apparent duality. Focusing, by its very essence, allows the coming into contact with the implicit richness that each individual carries within, by creating a space which brings one beyond duality, towards wholeness, in the here and now.

As is customary, this conference offers:

  • Various communication forums: lectures, experiential workshops. As in previous years, different forms of information sessions allow              presenters to share the fruit of their recent discoveries and to inspire, in return, new developments.
    Presentations’ Details
  • Special Interest Groups:
A Special Interest Group is a group of persons coming together, sharing and collaborating on a common theme. The participants of a Special Interest Group meet on the first evening of the Conference, and on each of the following days a time is scheduled to allow a deeper exploration of the topic.
    Interest Groups
  • Home Room Groups:
A Home Room Group has its own time and space, usually with a Home Group facilitator, and favors privileged listening and Focusing moments in small groups.
    Home Groups
  • Spontaneous Groupings:
Just for the pure pleasure of Focusing!

And for the fun and entertainement:

  • The Focusing Follies:
Tradition has it that a show open to all talents is put on by the participants. This is the time to share one’s creativity in front of an enthusiastic and very caring audience: theater, singing & dancing, poetry, storytelling, etc…
  • And of course:
Walking, talking, a bicycle ride, golfing, relaxing, meditating, meeting old friends or making new ones…
